Launched by the Carolina Marathon Association in 1972, The Lexington Medical Center Governor's Cup, the Governor's Cup is South Carolina's marquee running event, and includes a half-marathon, 8k run, 4-mile walk, and kid's cup. The 2012 Lexington Medical Center Governor’s Cup Road Race has been named an RRCA Championship Event.
